Meditation is a healing modality that incorporates a set of specific techniques utilized to help
practitioners improve their relationship with their mind, body and life experience.
There are different forms of meditation that have varying goals. Regardless of the technique
utilized, practitioners will experience a calming state that will pave the way for emotional
balance, stability, deeper focus and greater clarity.
This is a simple practice that will enhance your life for the better. When used consistently, it can
even heal and reshape the brain to yield positive benefits that result in improved overall
wellbeing.
The word “yoga” means union.
It is a union between the mind and the body. More specifically, yoga is a practice that develops the physical and mental strength to find stillness. While there are several styles of yoga, they all incorporate breathwork, meditation and asanas (poses) designed to promote wellness in every aspect of a practitioner’s life.
For thousands of years, the science of yoga has evolved addressing the physical, moral, mental and spiritual well-being of a practitioner as a whole.
B.K.S. Iyengar in “Light on Yoga” defines yoga as “a deliverance from contact with pain and sorrow”.
Pilates is mindful movement where the body makes a connection between the body, mind and spirit. With Pilates the first thing we do is inhale, we breathe. We gain strength mentally, physically and spiritually. It is a movement modality that can be practiced every day. Pilates is gentle on the joints and is rehabilitative in nature. Pilates is for every body. We strive to work with the body in front of us. Each body has unique needs. Mobility, Stability, Flexibility, Balance, Range of Motion are areas that are incorporated into the practice. Pilates has a focus on core strength as well as a healthy spine. A healthy spine supports good posture. Good posture allows our organs to function as designed. With Pilates the strength comes from the core, our center.
A meditation workshop focused on the fundamentals of meditation and breathwork.
Participants are guided through a discussion to gain an understanding of what meditation is, an awareness activity, and a guided meditation. This is meant for both beginners and experienced meditation practitioners.
A Program for Women on Self-Exploration and Emotional Intelligence.
Participants are guided towards a deeper understanding of themselves and their emotional intelligence, ultimately empowering them to make better decisions and navigate their inner world with more ease. At the end of the program, participants should have a set of resources available to them that informs their self-awareness as well as allows them to be emotionally intelligent and resilient.
A 60-minute session that incorporates Pilates, yoga, and meditation.
Participants are guided through breathwork coupled with some gentle movement that consists of pre-Pilates exercises with a transition into yoga poses while continuing to focus on breathing throughout.
In the last 20 minutes of the workshop, lead participates in a meditation with a focus on self-reflection.
